Another excellent sushi dinner at Japango. The quality is first class, the service is equally as good. This is coming from someone who eats sushi 3 days a week... Best in town...

Another nice meal here. We brought our family from out of town and they really liked it. We shared a bunch of apps and everything was really tasty! Service was attentive and helpful. Would definitely return!

One Saturday afternoon at around 3pm, my husband and I decided to try this Delray location as the Boca location has different hours. We love the Boca location and have dined there twice. The restaurant was empty of customers. Ok, we were seated and ordered a soda and water. My husband requested for smoked salmon sushi and was ensured that it will be cooked fish while I asked for the bento box with chicken and miso soup as an appetizer. The miso soup was pretty good. They brought out the platters.... his salmon was the raw/cured kind- but not COOKED as he was informed. My Bento Box was DIRTY. There were black and water stains in it along with a dead mosquito. I hesitated to eat off the bento box. I mean dude, the restaurant was empty... they could have taken the time to inspect the plates and whatever else before serving it to us. The waiter came over and he seemed to KNOW that everything was dirty and still served us dirty plates?? He was very unenthusiastic and gave off the vibe that he hated working there. My husband was also hesitant to eat his raw sushi after having seen my dirty plates because if they're dirty back there, there's no knowing if the sushi is contaminated. We left. Please. Get your shit together and CLEAN EVERYTHING before you serve food on it to your paying customers. Thank god that we didn't pay a cent!

Two Saturdays ago, my boyfriend and I decided to see a movie. When we got out of the movie, it was about 6 p.m. We were hungry and on a search for some dinner. To the right was a beer place that did not serve food, and to our left was Japango. We decided to check out Japango. We walked in, and the staff greeted us immediately. There was no wait, and we were seated right away. We sat down at the table and looked over the menu. When we eat in a Japanese restaurant, we usually order edamame. However, it was not on the menu. We asked the waiter, and they did have it. After we ordered it, it arrived a few minutes later. Now, let me get to the best part. I was going through the menu, and trying to figure out what to order. My boyfriend pointed out in the back of the menu there was vegan roll section. This is when Japango stole my heart. I ended up ordering the Ultimate Vegan Roll. It was a large roll that was filled with arugula, cucumber, mango, potato gnocchi and a thin slice of avocado on top. It also had some sweet soy syrup reduction sauce lightly over it. This roll was filling and delicious. Overall, the experience here was great. The staff was quick and friendly. The food was amazing. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this place is really simple to find something to eat.

Please note: I think we had a bad experience and I'm not sure that this would be the same experience each time you go there. My husband and I visited Delray Marketplace for the first time this past weekend and decided to stop in to eat at Japango. It was Friday night at 7:45pm, so there was only one table available when we walked in. It was small and very close to the table next to us, but since we were hungry we decided to sit there anyway. We ordered drinks right away which came out in a reasonable time, and we ordered 3 sushi rolls right away. We didn't see our waitress for over 30 minutes, which was when she came back to see if we wanted more drinks which we did order. We then didn't see her for another 15-20 minutes. She came back with our drinks and apologized and said that the drinks would be on the house. Meanwhile, we were sitting in between two other tables each with 4 people. The table to the right of us ordered their food the same time as us and received it about the same time we got our second round of drinks. The table to the left of us sat down after us and ordered shortly after. They also received their way before we did. We got busy chit chatting so we didn't really realize how long it was taking for our 3 simple rolls to come out until we realized that the table to the left of us had already finished their food before ours even came out. I couldn't find our waitress, so I had to ask another waiter to figure out what was going on with our food. At this point I thought for sure that our order never got put in. A couple minutes later, our waitress came out with our food and hurriedly apologized and put it on our table. I think she was embarrassed, yet she never provided an explanation or offered to make up with maybe throwing in free dessert or something. We ate pretty quickly since we were meeting friends next door for drinks. We had another waiter get our bill for us, then paid real fast and left. The food was good and the restaurant had a cool atmosphere, but if their service is like this every time, there's no way I'd ever return.

The wok noodles with chicken was very good, and the service was fast and friendly. Used a coupon from groupon.com

We waited 5 minutes at the hostess station and another 5 minutes at the table before we were approached. the restaurant was fairly empty too. Ordered sushi dinner with the salad. First, the salad was the style out of a bag and there was hardly any of the bland ginger sauce to offset the greens. Not tasty. Second, the sushi was HALF the size per piece of other restaurants and the quality was just ok. The al carte menu was too expensive to add to the meal. Horrible experience.

Service is horrible. Went with a rather big party. Was sat at the table quickly but it took 30mins for water and only came bc we asked for water. Another 20mins and they came and got the drink order. After an hour and seeing 2 other tables seated after us already receiving food I walked out and went across the street to the Pizzaria.

Wife and I arrived at 7 on a Saturday night to a full house and no wait! Walked right in and sat down. Staff seemed a bit rushed but it was busy. Menu is huge. Take your time. There's a lot to choose from. We started with home made lobster & shrimp wonton soup($4.50). Star of the night! I'd go back just for the soup. Great broth flavor and wontons stuffed with lobster and crab top it off. Appetizer I had the Mango Seafood Salad(10.95)... Kind of tasted like a regular pasta salad mayo-based dressing with a little added heat for flavor. Nice amount of crab, lobster and shrimp mixed in with mango and avocado. It came stacked nicely for presentation. My wife had the Japango fried rice($14.95). No Different than a Chinese fried rice which was upsetting because they specialize in Thai based flavors and it had none. Not a lot of veggies either but the beef and chicken were a nice addition. Just lacked flavor. I had the Tri Color Cucumber sushi roll ($10.95)... Huge pieces of salmon, tuna and yellow tail wrapped in cucumber. No rice. I was impressed with the size of the fish pieces and 6 overall large cuts. If you've got time before a movie in Delray Marketplace it's worth a shot.

We went Friday , and even though we weren't all there , our waiter was courteous and patient. After some beers, we proceeded to the table and ordered the peking duck appetizer. It was so good we ordered three. The sushi was well prepared and delicious, the menus was very diverse from Sushi to Chinese , to Thai to even American cuisine. They had it all. Great service for a large group and the fried beef dishes were amazing. Tuna tower with caviar good but its mostly appetizer material was delicious.

This was a stop on a pub crawl. Had it not been, I don't know that I would've found out about this place. It was packed on a Saturday night. For the crawl they gave a nearly packed container of complementary sushi, 4 pieces California roll with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. It was absolutely delicious. I will make it a point to go back for dinner and try more of the menu.

Food Poisoning?? We have eaten at the Parkland Location many times and it's been great. This is the 2nd and LAST time that we eat at the DMP location. We ate there on Tuesday evening 2/17/15. My wife ate the Spider roll, and at about 2:00 a.m. was in horrible pains, diarrhea, and vomiting. She noticed an odd taste when eating but we just chalked it up to maybe a different eel sauce. Who knew?? Here we are Friday and she is on meds for possible parasite. Stay away from there!!

I came here last night for my sister's birthday dinner. She said that I was going to love the menu because they had a section for vegan rolls. She was right! At most sushi and Japanese restaurants all I can ever order is the same thing. Usually they offer the standard cucumber or veggie roll. This place offers more exciting variations on veggie rolls. The roll that I had included tempeh! It was delicious, I am excited to go back and try the roll with tofu and they also have one with soy mozzarella. I also ordered a seaweed salad which was very fresh. The miso soup was flavorful and delicious. I would highly recommend them!

We tried their lobster bomb, tempura and cucumber roll. Our favorite was the lobster bomb! The rolls were huge. The tempura roll didn't have anything "crunchy". The kids ordered steamed dumplings and of course they loved it. Service was great.

We LOVE Japango in Parkland, so decided to try this branch as we were meeting friends farther North. Food: adequate at best Service: awful. Awful. "sir, there's avocado on my roll...I requested no avocado" server: "No you didn't" (just one example). I should add we were there early, the place was nearly empty, so no excuse for slow service, bad service, empty water glasses for over 10 minutes, and so on. We won't be back.

Japango= mediocre. We ordered the TGIF roll and found it tasteless and mundane. The cocktail menu lacked variety and originality.

  • Brenna R.

Amazing. Simply amazing. Always friendly service in a hip atmosphere, I always enjoy eating dinner at Japango. The sushi chef here knows his stuff. I have not tried anything that I didn't like. The menu is really expansive and they even have a section of vegan rolls (I have many a friend that will appreciate this!) and dessert rolls! I have always been so stuffed from dinner that I have yet to try a dessert roll, but believe you me I will try one soon. There can be a wait on the weekend. Do yourself a favor and sit at the sushi bar for zero wait and the ability to get to know the great sushi chef, Ko. You won't be disappointed!

Worst experience. Sat on patio because we were bringing our dog. There were 6 of us. We literally were there from 6 pm until 9:30 and not because we were enjoying ourselves. It took that long to get a few entrees and rolls. Asked for a bowl of water for the dog to which the server replied, "I'll think about it". She never did bring it. Pad Thai had no flavor, asked for some extra peanut sauce, never brought. Duck appetizer was cold and rubbery. Duck entree very salty, asked for refills on water and drinks never received. Lobster roll was mushy. No one ever asked how the food was. The vegetable fried rice and miso soup were average at best. No apologies or explanations. The lack of awareness is what disturbs me the most. This must be their SOP. I will NEVER go back. I work too hard for $140.00 and there are plenty of other restaurants who are at least "trying" to get it right and succeed.

The food was pretty good but the service was slow and confusing. Three different wait staff tried to take our drink order at first and then everything else was very slow. Slow to come back to see if we needed more, slow to bring drinks. The lighting in there is very dim & straining on the eyes as well...not good against the neutralish-warmish colour of the walls.

  • Melissa G.

Food is amazing, every time I come here I always start with the shrimp lobster shumi, and switch between the many sushi rolls. The Thai food, especially the pad thai, was good, but not great. However, the sushi is incredibly fresh, the tuna tartare is awesome, so I always go with sushi.

    (5)
  • Thomas B.

Good but pricey. Their Tom Young Guy is pretty good, a little heavy on the chili pepper. Waiters were nice, atmosphere was good, not too noisy. The sushi wasn't remarkably good to warrant the price so I'm giving 3 stars.

Some cool things, some okay things. Let's start with the okay first. We got there an hour before closing and ordered fairly quickly, but we were having a good time and as closing time neared the staff gave plenty of indications that they needed us to be on our way. This is always interesting because people handle this differently, but I'm a fan of the "sir/ma'am, we're closing, but don't feel like we need you to leave right away. We are going to be doing some closing things like sweeping and clearing, etc. but if you need anything - other than food because the kitchen is closing - let me know and I'll help." The stare while closing drawers and counting tips can only be held for so long :-) Okay, good news? Great menu - almost too great. I think sushi places suffer from too much choice when it comes to rolls - less is definitely more. They have a really interesting cucumber wrapping you can request in the place of rice. Fresh and interesting and delicious. They were also good about getting us more hot water for our tea. Wait staff friendly and generally efficient.

The service was good. Food were served fast! But was very disappointed. Absolutely not satisfied with all the food we ordered. Looked good but tasteless. We ordered miso soups ( that one was with funky taste of burned onion), tricolor cucumber wrap roll, salmon roll and dragon roll... Don't want even say anything about those... My napkin was dirty... And overall it looks like it's not a very clean place... This two stars is for location - very nice plaza. And for the service- was excellent.

  • Jennifer O.

Huge menu. Too many options. We decided to try the tuna tartar tasting and lobster shrimp shumai for appetizers. Both were decent. Except there were not nearly enough chips for everyone to try the 3 options of tartar. Next we had a few options of the expansive sushi roll menu. Those were ok. Nothing to write home about. Pretty pricey for what was offered. But good service nonetheless.

Sushi was very good, portion size was huge for every meal that came out. . Pad Thai eeeeehhhh. Okay i guess. Service was not bad but I wouldnt want to be there on a busy day.

Monday night / dinner for two. The place was not busy. Took them 15 to seat us. Took them 30 min to take my order. Is you don't have a lot of patience, I don't recommend this place. Worst service ever! Stay away!

  • Bill S.

This is a new location and everything is shinny and new. The food seems to taste better here than the Boca Raton locaton and the bonus is the movie theater is so close to this restaurant. The decor is much better here than the other locations and overall, this is a fine place for sushi and a family meal.

    (4)
  • E P.

Very yucky. The sushi here is disgusting . Save the parking hassle and go somewhere else . The other cooked dishes are nasty too . Better a frozen microwave meal. Food here is way below average are here 3 times each time was worse . Very dirty too .

So, I'm always weary about trying new Asian restaurants, because they're usually hit or miss. I checked Yelp before I came to this particular restaurant, and even though the reviews were bad, I decided to still give it a try and order take-out. I got tofu pad thai and my boyfriend ordered tofu red curry. The pad thai was extremely dry and the noodles stuck together. It also was completely bland and tasteless. The curry was spicy, but again, tasteless, and the tofu wasn't cooked. It looked like it was sort of just thrown into the pan at the last minute. I had to put my own curry powder and basil flakes on to give it some flavor. After I seasoned it myself, it was fine. I'd give it another try, because I'm interested in trying their vegan rolls, however, I won't be ordering the entrees again.

    (2)
  • Buffy V.

Not my first choice for Sushi. Sashimi wasn't fresh and tempura shrimp nuggets were mostly fried tails. It's next to the movie theater and service was decent. I think we will just go for pizza next time we are seeing a movie.

  • Brian R.

There is a level of incompetence to which you really have to rise to blow a location in front of one of the busiest new movie theaters with most of your restaurant competitors still closed in the new mall. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without even an "I'll be right there." The place is understaffed and overwhelmed. They have a great ambience and the food is good when you can get it. They have a name for poorly managed places in slamming commercial centers: CLOSED. We left and went to the Yamato Road location which was having trouble with its kitchen, but at least they have a waiter with a brain in his head who keeps that location running and customers happy!

  • Suzanne L.

Always delicious! Certain wait staff are a little prickly, but I find with a little kindness they soften a bit. The food is excellent, and it's convenient to grab a meal before a movie or after. Sushi is very good, but the hibachi rice dinner is really delicious. The teriyaki steak is really good as well.

Went to a movie last night and then stopped at Japango for dinner afterwards. We did have a reservation but it wasn't necessary as there were quite a few tables that were free. It was a nice evening so we chose to sit outside. We ordered mixed salads, miso soup, some basic sushi rolls, pad Thai and one person had the Mongolian beef. There are many interesting rolls on the menu, but since it was the first time eating here, we decided to stick to the basic ones. We were quite pleased with all our selections. The rolls & salads were fresh and the pad Thai was quite good. Everyone had positive things to say so we'll definitely go back. It's very convenient if you're seeing a movie before or after dinner.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! My wife and I, together with our 2 friends were seated for almost 30 minutes and no one even bothered to get our drinks, much less offer any water! and the restaurant wasn't even full tonight(wednesday). What a horrible restaurant!!! I've read negative reviews about their service and this just confirms it. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you're willing to wait forever just to get a waiter to even bother to take your order. This restaurant should shut its doors if it cannot serve its customers right. Whatba shame!!!

It was ok. Peking duck wrap appetizer was mostly lettuce. Had some salmon dynamite roll which was good. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

  • Christina S.

I like Japango in Boca, but this location is a little too open and chaotic. Still good food, but the ambiance is not so hot. Good for a quick roll on the way to the movies immediately next door...50 ft away.

    (3)
  • Ali M.

The food here is just not that good. I keep giving this place opportunities to impress me and it just never happens. The sushi is VERY overpriced and often times does NOT taste fresh. In fact, it tastes like grocery store-bought sushi. The one good thing on the menu that I've had is the spicy miso soup, but it is not so much a miso soup as it is a tom yum goon, and that's why I'm giving Japango 2 stars instead of 1. The location of the restaurant is great, but that doesn't make up for the quality of the food.

    (2)
  • Scott M.

I usually go here once a week, the sushi is always fresh and the rolls are made nicely. The service is consistent as well. There is rarely a wait. Its on of the best in Delray's Marketplace.

I went to Japango on a Thursday night with a party of 8 people. It was about 45 minutes till close so it wasn't terribly busy. The waitress was very prompt and friendly. We ordered the chicken dumplings to start, as well as the shrimp and lobster wonton soup, which were both DELICIOUS. I also had the Tuna Tatakiki which was fresh and had a great sauce. Overall, I felt the prices were reasonable for the portions served. I would definitely go back.

    (5)
  • Elaine C.

This Japango restaurant is no better or worse than the one on Yamato or 441. The teriyaki salmon in the benzi box is my usual favorite dish. The salad today with ginger sauce lacked a lot. They used to even throw in a cucumber and tomato. Today it was just leaves. The service is wishy washy. Its the best healthy wise restaurant in the Delray Market place but nothing to get excited about either.

  • Janet R.

Very disappointing. Four of us ordered different meals for a late lunch on Sunday. The menu was extensive and it was hard to choose, but I decided on a usual Thai favorite, chicken pad Thai. The others had a curry , summer roll and a tuna tower whose name I forgot. everything was beautiful and pretty tasteless. At $14 for the pad Thai and more for the curry we expected soup or salad included but it wasn't. I don't live that far West and wouldn't go back. There are many places that do it better at that price. Points are for good service and nice decor.

Well, that was a waste of an hour and a half. At least I left feeling full. We get there and wait at the hostess stand for a few minutes, as the hostess is busy taking orders on the phone. A member of the waitstaff comes up, runs a card, tells us that someone will get to us in a minute. A second member of waitstaff comes up and actually asks us if we've been helped; after we mention that we hadn't, we're pointed to a table and told that we'll get some silverware and a waitperson will get to us as soon as they can, as they're understaffed tonight. We figure it's not going to be that big of a deal, as the restaurant isn't that busy and most of the people seated already have their food. Twenty minutes after we're seated, we have to wave over a member of the waitstaff to take our food and drinks order. (What would've happened if we hadn't? Would we have sat there forever with nobody coming over?) An hour into waiting, the waitperson who'd been flagged over with the drinks (which she totally fucked up when bringing us and had to go back to correct it) comes over and finds out that we never got our food. She runs into the kitchen and brings us our plates about ten minutes later-- our food is cold, but it's been so long since we ordered that we just don't care anymore. We eat our cold food, and she checks on us once to ask if everything is okay about ten minutes after dropping off the food. It's not, but really, how long would it have taken to send the food back to be heated to a proper temperature? After we're finished, the bus boy comes and takes our plates, and we end up having to flag a different member of waitstaff to get our check delivered to us, as our waitperson has disappeared. That said, the food was cold, bland, and not worth the $80 bill for three people. I had a seafood pan-fried noodle dish, which consisted of mushy shellfish, cold but properly cooked vegetables and noodles that were too crispy and stuck together on the edges and mushy in the middle. My husband ordered a pad thai extra spicy, and it was cold and completely lacking in heat, though adequately seasoned otherwise. My father's fish entree was also cold, but acceptable though bland. I *might* be willing to try them in a month if they can get their act together, but this was a pretty horrible experience.

Not worth your time and money!! The first time I went there I had an eel roll which was average, not very fresh tasting. My dad had the special fried rice with shrimp, chicken and steak. It was disgusting. The beef was cooked odd and was rubbery and was unpleasant in taste and texture. Pretty much the same with the chicken. The only thing that tasted fairly good were the dumplings, which I wouldn't be surprised if they were frozen. Decided to give it one more try. Even worst than the first time. Firstly, the restaurant smelled like fish which is a sign of NOT fresh seafood. We asked to sit outside and they wouldn't let us because the patio is closed due to a shortage of staff. The green tea was from a bag rather than fresh leaves. My dad and I both asked for noodles with our meals rather than rice and, unlike most places that charge you little to nothing for a replacement, they charged us SEVEN DOLLARS EACH for a small bowl of noodles. And they didn't even taste good. After waiting a VERY long time for our food, I had the Mongolian with chicken and it was so bland and unenjoyable. Where is the flavor?! Again rubbery meat. I tried a piece of my mom's tuna sushi and it did not taste or look fresh. Overall, this place is so not worth any of your time and money. I've had a lot of quality Asian food in my time and this is not even close to quality. Quite honestly I don't see this place lasting.

I heard really good things about this place and was dyeing to try it. Server was not attentive, water glasses empty, we ordered a second beer and the waitress forgot about it, why I can not understand there were only 4 tables seated in the restaurant The food came out and tasted like it was reheated and not fresh. My wife and I ordered rib app, it sucked def taste not fresh, $25 loberstbomb came with only 5 pieces of sushi roll(not bad tasting) and orange beef (breading stale and soggy from the moment they put it on the table.) It was our first and last time, to bad we live right down the street.

Skip this place ! Don't even waste your time and money. To start when we arrived the hostess have us an attitude and acted like we were disturbing her to take us to a table. Next, our waiter had the personality of a flat tire and the customer service skills of a possum. ( not kidding ) Now the food, the egg rolls were bland and flavorless, the plum sauce was flavorless, the pan fried dumplings and dumpling sauce were bland, My deluxe shrimp tempura was bland and the "eel sauce" was this gooey molasses mess, again no distinct flavor, just bland. The seafood miso soup was good but the mussels were really rubbery, unlike anything we have eaten before. My wife's salmon and krab roll was ok, she did not finish it, which is rare. Like we said, do yourself a favor and skip Japangos.

    Went here for an early Valentine's date and decided to try it out. All I have to say is, service sucked! I don't know whether our server was new or whatever because it seemed like she didn't know how to genuinely cater to customers. First we waited forever for someone to ask for our drinks, waited even some more to have our order to be placed and more waiting to receive our bill. It wasn't even that busy! 3 servers and there was probably less than 10 tables. It seemed like the server did not really care because the way she presented herself was very.. whatever attitude. A simple, hi how are you, is everything ok, thank you good night. That's practically all she conversed with us... not welcoming. But on the other hand.. food was okay.. I had the soft shell eel roll and my date had the steak roll. Mine was pretty good but the steak roll was super bland and dry.. Overall this place just needs work with service. The ambiance is beautiful and the food can survive. I hope this place does better because it's in a great area. Truthfully, I was only here because I had a coupon (;

Average fare. Food could have been better seasoned. Both my companion and myself said this at every turn so it wasn't just one thing that could have been more favorable. Orange beef was mostly breading. Very little actual beef for what it cost. Should have just gone back to Furin where we know we're going to get constantly good food. Service was friendly.

Sushi is fresh and delicious! Toro sashimi roll was light and amazing very colorful. We also had tempura ice cream for dessert, very good. They have yummy iced or hot green tea. The staff is nice and ambiance is fun, colorful and cool lights. We will definitely come back here!

Horrible today. The server got everything wrong and was very much in a hurry. The spicey tuna roll used chopped tuna which means it was low grade tuna. Had to ask twice for everything. I know it was New Years Day but you should try harder. Won't be back.

We live right down the road so it's easy to pop in for a dinner or some sushi. The first time we went it was great, just one dish we ordered wasn't fantastic. The second time we went it just seemed that everything went down hill and the service was horrible. I booked a reservation and they even got my time wrong over the phone and they didn't bother to apologize. They tried to play it off as I didn't know. The third time it was just darn right disgusting and a waste of money. I will never go there again, the staff are unfriendly and the food tastes like it was out of the garbage it was so bad. Wouldn't recommend going here ever, period.
